Volume Control Button Suddenly I've lost the speaker icon that was in the lower right corner of the task bar. By pushing the fn button and either page up or page down I could control the volume, but now this is not visable. How can I restore this function?
My xps 11 volume-control button (front left side of laptop) sometimes works as volume control, and sometimes starts NARRATOR. Has anyone encountered this situation or had the problem fixed?

I have a new laptop, Inspiron 15 5000 series and the shortcut keys (F1 - mute, F2 - lower volume., F3 - increase volume) do not work. I have to go to the arrow in the lower right hand corner that shows the volume control to adjust the volume.
After a few years of working just fine the 3 volume buttons at the top of the keyboard now only work when I hold down the "Fn" key. When I am not holding down the "Fn" key the "mute" button on F1 now opens a new tab in my brower, the "volume down" button on F2 doesn't do anything, and the "volume up" button on F3 now opens the search.
When I press the volume settings in the bottom right corner, I can change the sliding button from 0-100, but it doesn't actually affect the sound. The only way I can change it, is to go to settings->system->sound->volume mixer and use the sliding button for Microsoft Edge.

What I have tried is below - In control panel, sound, communications: when Windows detects communications activity Select "Do nothing"
